Enhancing Your Beauty With Colors

I’m on this journey to revamp my style. I’m trying to dress more feminine, chic, effortless, and look more put together.  I checked out this book from the library called Color Me Confident.  The book is about wearing the right colors to help you look your best.  Some colors can wash you out, and others can make you look alive and vibrant. Based on your skin tone and undertones, hair, and eye colors, you can wear a color that makes you look terrific. Many online resources can help you find the colors that look best on you.  I am what would be considered based on the book a “deep.”  Because of my dark hair, dark eyes, and light skin tone, I look best in colors such as true red, royal blue, primrose yellow, and taupe, to name a few.  I always gear towards pastel colors, but I’ve learned that those colors don’t do anything for me. I did notice a big difference once I put on the complementary color for my skin, hair, and eye colors. It was such a simple change, but it made a significant difference. If you’re on a journey to changing your wardrobe and improving your look, then I suggest you do a little online research or pick up the book here.

Clothes

When out shopping for new clothes, I used to choose what I visually liked. Now, I prefer something I visually like and place it against my body. I check out how the fabric colors and print look against my skin tone. Does it make you look vibrant? Or does it wash you out? Then once I try on the right ones for me in the fitting room, I make sure I immediately have a positive reaction to it, none of that “hm maybe it will look good once I lose a few pounds.” or ” I’m not sure I completely am sold on this, but I can always return it.”. Only buy the clothes that give you immediate confidence. That’s how you know whether or not you should purchase something.

Makeup

Picking the proper shade foundation can be so tricky online. That’s why I would suggest you go in person if you can. Take the sample of foundation and place a minor stroke on the nape of your neck, just below your jawline. Choose the color that matches the most to that area of your neck. You want your foundation to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your body. Never choose make-up colors that wash your face out; every color you choose should enhance your natural beauty. I love glowy, sun-kissed, natural-looking makeup on myself. It makes me feel beautiful. A red lipstick moment makes my dark eyes pop! With practice, you will know what suits you, don’t follow trends, to be on-trend. When I was growing up, thin eyebrows were all the rage; whoopie Goldberg even took all of hers off! Everyone told me I should do my eyebrows; I never did, and now I have lush, thick dark brown eyebrows. They’re one of my favorite physical features, and they so happen to be trendy now. You never know what makeup trends will be like; do what brings out your natural beauty and what feels right to you.
